Abstract

This survey study examines the issues related to source credibility in the implementation of the practice of providing performance feedback according to the evaluators and the evaluated officers in secondary schools in Sarawak. A total of 56 evaluators and 112 evaluated officers were involved. The data collection of the study was carried out using online data collection techniques through Google Forms application and the data were analyzed using quantitative content analysis techniques. Overall, the analysis shows that issues related to source credibility in the implementation of the practice of giving performance feedback are linked to three aspects namely lack of confidence in providing performance feedback, lack of knowledge about job performance and failure to act as role models. The findings of this study are believed to provide valuable input to education service officers especially the evaluators and evaluated officers in schools as well as human resource practitioners in other organizations to improve the implementation of the practice of providing performance feedback.
