AMALAN MEMBERIKAN MAKLUM BALAS PRESTASI KERJA: PERSEPSI PEGAWAI PENILAI DAN PEGAWAI YANG DINILAI TERHADAP KUALITI MAKLUM BALAS

This qualitative study examines the perception of appraising officers (PP) and appraised officers (PYD) on the quality of feedback when giving job performance feedback. A total of 12 study participants (six PP and six PYD) selected through purposive sampling were interviewed using a semi-structured interview technique. Participants are among those who are directly involved with the context of the study and are believed to be able to provide transparent and comprehensive information. The research data was analyzed using the content analysis method. Overall, the analysis shows that PP and PYD's perception of the quality of feedback when giving performance feedback still needs to be improved. The findings of this study are very important to education managers (in particular) and human resource practitioners in other organizations (in general) to improve the implementation of the practice of providing performance feedback.
Kajian berbentuk kualitatif ini mengkaji persepsi pegawai penilai (PP) dan pegawai yang dinilai (PYD) terhadap kualiti maklum balas semasa memberikan maklum balas prestasi kerja. Seramai 12 orang peserta kajian (enam orang PP dan enam orang PYD) yang dipilih melalui kaedah persampelan bertujuan telah ditemu bual dengan menggunakan teknik temu bual separa berstruktur. Peserta adalah dalam kalangan mereka yang terlibat secara langsung dengan konteks kajian dan dipercayai dapat memberikan maklumat yang telus dan komprehensif. Data kajian dianalisis menggunakan kaedah analisis kandungan. Secara keseluruhannya, analisis menunjukkan bahawa persepsi PP dan PYD terhadap kualiti maklum balas semasa memberikan maklum balas prestasi masih perlu ditambah baik. Dapatan kajian ini sangat penting kepada pengurus pendidikan (khususnya) dan pengamal sumber manusia di organisasi-organisasi lain (umumnya) bagi menambah baik pelaksanaan amalan memberikan maklum balas prestasi.
