Abstract

The use of Teaching Aids (ABM) and material for Teaching Aids (BBM) will increase the effectiveness of the interaction process between lecturers and students. A good ABM is when it is a medium of facilitation that is simple, easy to understand, attracts students' interest and can improve student performance. In order to increase the effectiveness of learning and teaching in the Domestic Piping Installation System Course, a teaching aid called Trainer Kit SPPD has been built. It aims to help students to identify the type, size and method of connecting piping components (pipefitting) and to easily explain the cycle of the Domestic Pipe Piping System more clearly and effectively. Trainer Kit SPPD is equipped with added value QR-code to enable students to access additional notes. In order to test the effectiveness of this SPPD Trainer Kit, a study was conducted using a descriptive survey method using mean and standard deviation comparison statistics. The research instrument used consists of a set of questionnaires containing 28 question items and using a Likert scale. In the pilot study, the alpha value obtained was 0.875. A total of 31 students were involved in this study and the data obtained was analyzed using SPSS software version 20.00. Overall, the findings of the study show that aspects of the level of interest (4.32), interactive (4.43), appropriateness (4.51) and understanding (4.31) can be interpreted at a high level where the overall mean score recorded a value of 4.31 which is above the level of 3.67 (high). The findings of this study are expected to be used to expand the use of SPPD Unit Trainers and increase the effectiveness of delivery in effective learning and teaching processes.

 

Penggunaan Alat Bantu Mengajar (ABM) dan Bahan Bantu Mengajar (BBM) akan menambahkan lagi keberkesanan proses interaksi antara pensyarah dengan pelajar. ABM yang baik adalah bila mana ia satu medium pemudahcara yang ringkas, mudah difahami, menarik minat pelajar dan dapat mempertingkatkan prestasi pelajar. Bagi menambahkan keberkesanan pembelajaran dan pengajaran dalam Kursus Sistem Pemasangan Perpaipan Domestik satu alat bantu mengajar yang dinamakan Trainer Kit SPPD telah dibina. Ia bertujuan untuk membantu pelajar bagi mengenalpasti jenis, saiz and kaedah penyambungan komponen perpaipan (pipefitting) dan menerangkan dengan mudah kitaran Sistem Perpaipan Paip Domestik lebih jelas dan effektif. Trainer Kit SPPD dilengkapi dengan nilai tambah QR-code bagi memboleh para pelajar mengakses nota tambah. Bagi menguji keberkesanan Trainer Kit SPPD ini, satu kajian telah dijalankan mengunakan kaedah tinjauan berbentuk deskriptif dengan menggunakan statistik perbandingan min dan sisihan piawai. Instrumen kajian yang digunakan adalah terdiri daripada satu set soal selidik yang mengandungi 28 item soalan dan menggunakan skala Likert. Dalam kajian rintis, nilai alpha yang diperolehi adalah 0.875. Seramai 31 pelajar terlibat dalam kajian ini dan data yang diperolehi dianalisis menggunakan perisian SPSS versi 20.00. Secara keseluruhannya, dapatan kajian menunjukkan aspek tahap minat (4.32), interaktif (4.43), kesesuaian (4.51) dan kefahaman (4.31) dapat diinterpretasikan pada tahap yang tinggi di mana jumlah skor min keseluruhan mencatat nilai 4.31 iaitu melebihi aras 3.67 (tinggi). Dapatan kajian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan bagi memperkembangkan penggunaan Trainer Unit SPPD dan meningkatkan tahap keberkesanan penyampaian dalam proses pembelajaran dan pengajaran yang berkesan
