Abstract

The electrical and electronic wastes (E-waste) are climbed dramatically in the developing world. Consequently, the presence of the potential toxic substances in them and improper management, E-waste will be hazardous to the health and environment. Therefore, this research study analyze the volume of E-waste being sent to the landfill by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and evaluate the level of sustainability awareness of SMEs in Malaysia. This research is conducted in SME in Malaysia in order to evaluate the level of sustainability awareness of SMEs to the percentage of E-waste sent to the landfill. The E-waste management and Sustainable Development Goal is reviewed through the literature survey as a reference to construct a conversion table. The conversion table is used in order to interpret the meanings of the E-waste management practices and performance in terms of E-waste volume sent to the landfill. The normalization technique is also used to reduce bias in the data. A statistical tool Pearson Correlation Analysis is used in this research study to show the significant relationship between the sustainability awareness and percentage of E-waste sent to landfill.
