The Journal of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Biotechnology emphasizes that long-term digital content preservation is vital for maintaining the integrity and reliability of scholarly records. The journal is dedicated to ensuring all published articles remain permanently accessible, discoverable, and usable by researchers worldwide. We pledge to keep our scholarly content available continuously, no matter future changes to the journal's operations, technology, or publisher.
To fulfil this essential duty and protect authors' intellectual property, the journal adopts a multi-layered preservation approach. First, it is a registered member of the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP-PN). This system is a resilient, decentralised digital preservation network specifically built for open-access scholarly journals. Using this automated network, all published materials, including full-text articles, supplementary files, and detailed metadata, are deposited, encrypted, and securely stored across a global network. This proactive, fail-safe archiving method ensures that, even in a highly unlikely scenario in which the journal or publisher experiences catastrophic data loss or prolonged offline periods, the entire scholarly collection can be reliably preserved and seamlessly restored for continued public access.
This journal's also global archiving network is complemented by a strong internal system. The journal's scholarly content is continuously supported and systematically stored by the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah's Centre for Digital Technology (DiTec). Using DiTec's advanced digital repositories and institutional server backups, the journal benefits from a secure, localised data protection layer that ensures institutional continuity and permanent on-site preservation of all academic outputs.
Moreover, to ensure maximum transparency and verifiable accountability, the journal’s external digital preservation status is officially documented and regularly monitored by the Keepers Registry. As an independent, authoritative global clearinghouse, the Keepers Registry oversees and confirms the long-term archiving arrangements of electronic journals around the world. By having the journal's verified status in the Keepers Registry via the PKP-PN node and with support from DiTec, authors, academic librarians, and international indexing organizations can independently verify that the Journal of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Biotechnology maintains a secure, compliant, and redundant digital preservation system.
