Abstract

Pengaplikasian elemen kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi (KBAT) dalam Buku Teks Bahasa Melayu Tahun Enam (KSSR) (2015) selaras dengan kehendak Dokumen Standard Kurikulum dan Pentaksiran Bahasa Melayu Sekolah Rendah. Namun, kajian lalu mendapati penerapan elemen ini masih belum dilaksanakan sepenuhnya. Justeru, objektif kajian ini ialah mengkaji tahap penerapan elemen KBAT dalam semua arahan aktiviti pembelajaran Buku Teks Bahasa Melayu Tahun Enam (KSSR) berdasarkan jenis kemahiran bahasa, jenis kemahiran KBAT, dan Unit Pelajaran. Buku Teks Bahasa Melayu Tahun Enam (KSSR) (2015) terbitan Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka digunakan sebagai sampel kajian. Data dikumpul menggunakan senarai semak ciri-ciri elemen KBAT dan senarai semak arahan aktiviti pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis, dirumus dan dibandingkan antara setiap kemahiran bahasa dan jenis KBAT. Dapatan kajian mendapati bahawa hanya 29.70% elemen KBAT diaplikasikan dalam Buku Teks Bahasa Melayu (KSSR) berbanding dengan penerapan elemen KBAR. Dapatan juga mendapati bahawa 51% elemen KBAT diterapkan dalam kemahiran menulis berbanding dengan kemahiran membaca dan bertutur. Dapatan turut menunjukkan bahawa elemen mencipta diterap lebih kerap (73.47%) berbanding dengan elemen KBAT yang lain. Dapatan kajian juga menyerlahkan bahawa elemen mencipta lebih banyak diaplikasi dalam kemahiran menulis berbanding dengan kemahiran bahasa yang lain. Secara keseluruhannya, Buku Teks Bahasa Melayu KSSR (2015) masih belum mencapai piawaian penerapan elemen KBAT yang secara menyeluruh dan seimbang.

An application of an elements of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in the Malay Language Standard Six textbook align with The Malay Language National Primary School Standards-Based Curriculum and Assessment Document. However, past studies reported that the application of these elements has not fully implemented. Therefore, this study was conducted to study the level of application of KBAT elements in all instructions of learning activities in the Malay Language Standard Six textbook based on the types of language skills, KBAT skills, dan Learning Unit. In this study, the researchers used the Malay Language Standard Six textbook, which is published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, as the study sample. The study data were collected by using a checklist of the elements of HOTS and a checklist of instructions for learning activities. Data collected were analyzed and compared to every aspect of linguistic skill and the type of HOTS. The findings showed that only 29.70% of the elements of HOTS were applied in the Malay Language Standard Six textbook berbanding dengan penerapan elemen KBAR.The findings also showed that 51% of the elements of HOTS were mainly applied for writing skills compared to reading and speaking skills. Moreover, the findings showed that the element of creation was used at a higher rate (73.47%) compared to other elements. Furthermore, the findings showed that the element of creation was widely applied for the writing skill in the Malay language compared to other skills. Overall, the findings indicate that the Malay Language Standard Six textbook has not fully achieved the standard of the application of HOTS.
